How do I create a Will?
A Will is a legal document that outlines who gets what after you pass away. In this document, you can list a spouse, family members, friends .etc that will receive an asset or possession. If you pass away without a Will, the State Courts will make a decision on your behalf. This is referred to as a “dying intestate”.
Wills are one piece of a greater Estate Plan. If you are needing to draft a Will or an Estate Plan, it’s recommended to get an attorney to help you with this process.
Creating a Will involves writing the document and having it signed and notarized. While it may seem like a simple process, it’s important to have a professional help you draft this document to ensure legitimacy after you pass away.
